This exclusive Napa Valley release of beloved Butter Chardonnay beautifully expresses its Los Carneros roots—a cooler climate with a long, slow ripening season. Orange blossom aromas lead to notes of ripe, juicy apricots and peaches with a touch of lemon curd bringing out its bright and lively fruit flavors. Brioche and caramel add touches of richness, and the soft creamy texture delivers a sumptuous finish on the palate.
JaM is short for John and Michele Truchard, who both grew up in Napa wine families, were friends in high school, and eventually started dating while away at college. They came home to make wine and start a family, farming their own vineyards and have been crafting ultra-premium wines in the Napa Valley for over a decade. John and Michele (the “J” and “M” in JaM) launched JaM Cellars to make high-quality winemaking traditions accessible for everyone, creating memorable, easy-to-love wines that over deliver in deliciousness. Their names are on the bottles and their hearts are in these wines.

California’s most praised white wine, Chardonnay is also the state’s most planted white grape variety. Diverse terrain and microclimates allow for an incredible range of wine styles.
Chardonnay planted in the cooler, coastal zones takes on bright characteristics like lemon zest, key lime, green apple and wet flint. For this style, look to the chilly Sonoma Coast, Carneros, Santa Cruz Mountains, Santa Lucia Highlands and Edna Valley.
The inland zones of California’s coast, such as the Russian River, Sonoma, Napa and Livermore Valleys maintain a more Goldilocks-esque climate where both styles go. Early picking retains acidity and creates a leaner style but leaving the grapes to hang creates an approachable Chardonnay, balancing richness and finesse.
Chardonnay also plays a major part in the sparkling wine production of the Anderson Valley and Carneros.
